Personal injury lawsuits | DUI Legal Defense Attorneys

You cannot win a personal injury lawsuit if you don?t have a lawyer. Many people don?t know this because they think that the courts are fair. Look, if you want to live in the real world, you need to grow up. I know that it?s not easy to tell people these things but someone has to do it. I almost lost because they had more than one lawyer and these were very expensive lawyers. The company was responsible for my injury and they didn?t want to admit it. I hired the Stockton Personal Injury Attorney and they have made this victory possible.

The Ultimate Obama Election Night Party Menu: White House ...

A special collection to commemorate the end of Campaign 2012...
President Obama will spend Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, in his hometown of Chicago with the First Family before attending what will ostensibly be a victory party in the evening.? The event will be held indoors at McCormick Place, with a crowd of about 10,000.? Whether it's victory or defeat for President Obama, Election Night parties will take place all over the nation.? Herewith, a collection of White House recipes to enjoy while watching the President finish his last campaign EVER.? Above, the President and Mrs. Obama in Iowa, where their journey began in 2008, and where they will end the campaign before heading to Chicago. The Election Night menu includes foods President Obama has eaten most frequently on the campaign trail, as well as his favorites from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The White House chefs have released some very challenging recipes, included here, but most are very easy.? There's steak, fish pizza, vegetarian entrees, a Biden family favorite, salads and vegetable sides.?The perfect finish is pie, the President's favorite dessert.? Cookies are included too; First Lady Michelle Obama won the Family Circle Presidential Cookie Bake-Off.

Toasting POTUS: An Obama Election Night Party would ideally include White House hombrewed beer, and anyone who brewed the recipes as soon as they were released on Sept. 1 will be enjoying their replicales. Bud Light, the President's favorite beer during sudsy campaign stops is the alternate choice.? Mrs. Obama, for the record, enjoys a nice Vodka Gimlet when dining out.? For teetotalers, Iced Sweet Tea is the President's beverage of choice when he dines out. The White House recipe for Sparkling Merry Berry, made with seasonal fruit, is a swell non-alcoholic party drink.

The Ultimate Obama Election Night Party Menu

Presidential Entrees

From Executive Chef Cris Comerford, this challenging recipe can be made with any kind of firm-fleshed white fish.? It is very special, and the recipe also includes instructions for White House Winter Salad with Honey Vinaigrette.? The fish recipe serves 4; the salad recipe serves 6.?

*Grilled Skirt Steak with Poblano Sauce
From Sam Kass, the President and Mrs. Obama's Senior Policy Advisor? for Healthy Food Initiatives.? Kass cooks for the First Family whenever they're home, and says this fast and easy recipe is a Presidential favorite. The sauce is spicy, and the steak is served over a bed of sauteed spinach, included in the recipe.? Serves 4-6 depending on portion size.

*The Obama Family Chili recipe?
President Obama has had hot sauces created in his honor, and that's how the Eater in Chief likes his chili, which can be served over noodles or rice.? "I make a very good chili," President Obama bragged in August.? Serves a crowd, and can easily be doubled or tripled.

*White House Spinach Pie
Created by Comerford for Mrs. Obama's book American Grown, this easy recipe is vegetarian with cheese.? It can be served hot or cold, and tastes delicious either way.? Comerford suggests a dollop of zesty Greek yogurt. Serves 6-10, depending on portion size, and can also be thinly sliced as a side dish.

*Biden Family Chicken Parmesan
Dr. Jill Biden says her recipe is one of Vice President Joe Biden's favorite family meals. As the Veep himself might say, the recipe is really &%$#*!! good.? Perfectly sized for a party, the recipe makes 12 servings.??

*Kitchen Garden Baked Chicken With Brown Rice & Peas
One of the first recipes released to celebrate Mrs. Obama's Kitchen Garden, this creation from Kass is essentially baked "chicken fingers." Sounds like kid food, but adults truly love 'em too.? The easy recipe includes instructions for salad.? Uses a whole chicken, and serves a crowd.

Presidential Pizza

President Obama's re-election campaign put a big spotlight on pizza.? Florida Pizzaman Scott Van Duzer became a symbol for the campaign, and the President also made a habit of delivering pizzas to his hardworking field office volunteers.?? President Obama also enjoyed plenty of pizza while on the trail, most recently at a lunch in Iowa. The White House pizza recipes are vegetarian, but pepperoni and sausage can be added to make them accurately Obama:? The President loves meaty pizza.?

*White House Garden Vegetable Pizza, was inspired by the First Lady's Kitchen Garden, of course.? The recipe from Comerford makes three whole pies, loaded with vegetables. ?Mrs. Obama fed this pizza to the veggie-hating Jay Leno during a campaign visit to his talk show, and he ate it.? Serves a very big crowd, or the recipe can be cut in half.

*White House Grilled Garden Pizza, also inspired, of course, by the First Lady's Kitchen Garden, uses all kinds of grilled vegetables.? It's super easy, with Comerford's recipe calling for store-bought dough and canned sauce.? Serves 4. ? Presidential Salads and Sides
*White House White Bean Salad, from American Grown, is by Kass. It's spicy: Shallots, chives and radishes are mixed with peas and Cannellini or Great Northern beans.? Serves 6-8.

White House Winter Garden Salad, created by Comerford, features winter lettuces with a spicy mix of herbs, grilled sweet onions, and a honey vinaigrette. Serves 6.

*Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Apples and Chiles
Sweet potatoes are a First Family favorite, and this recipe by Kass for American Grown is sweet and spicy.? Serves 4, and can be easily doubled or quadrupled.

*White House Green Beans With Almonds
Created by Comerford for American Grown, this recipe adds shallots and parsley to a traditional side dish.? Serves 6-8.

*White House Roasted Potatoes are loaded with garlic, and served at the President and Mrs. Obama's holiday parties.? Comerford's easy recipe serves 12-16.

*White House No Cream Creamed Spinach
This recipe by Comerford is the very first recipe released by the Obama White House waaaay back in 2009.? It really does taste like traditional creamed spinach, but without using heavy cream.? Serves 6.

Presidential Pies and Cookies

Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses, nicknamed the 'Crust Master' by his boss, has created all the recipes listed here for President Obama's favorite dessert. Pie is served at all important Obama celebrations, including birthdays.

*White House Apple Pie?
President Obama has promised to take America forward, so this quintessentially American pie should have pride of place among the desserts.? It is so good it was served at President Obama's State Dinner honoring China's President Hu Jintao.? Election watchers might find that hilarious, since outsourcing to China was a big topic in the campaign. Serves 6-10, depending on portion size.

*White House Huckleberry Pie
The electoral college map must have key states going blue for President Obama to win.? Huckleberries are blue, plus this recipe uses blueberries, too.? It's been served at every Obama Thanksgiving at the White House, according to Yosses.? Serves 6-10, depending on portion size.

*White House Key Lime Pie
In honor of that very contested battleground state, Florida, this pie can be served as an edible good luck charm. Key Limes are currently hard to find, so use regular limes.? Serves 6-10, depending on portion size.

*White House Sweet Dough Butter Cookies
This favorite cookie recipe by Yosses is served at most White House receptions; it's cut into all kinds of fancy shapes--including cookies shaped like First Dog Bo--when served to guests at during holiday party receptions.? Stamped into a round shape, the cookies can easily be decorated with the Obama 2012 logo. Servings depend on size of cookies cut.

*White and Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe offered by the First Lady won Family Circle's Presidential Cookie Bake-Off, which has predicted the winner of the General Election four out of five times since 1992.? Close to 10,000 readers voted this year, and the cookie race reflected the duel going on in real polling.? Mrs. Obama got just 287 more votes than her challenger, "our smallest margin ever," noted Family Circle.? Makes 5 dozen cookies.

Happy Election night...and Forward!?

Boy killed in fall, mauling at Pa. zoo exhibit

PITTSBURGH (AP) ? A young boy visiting the Pittsburgh zoo with his mother and friends was killed Sunday when he somehow got over a railing and then fell about 14 feet into an exhibit that's home to a pack of African painted dogs, who pounced on the boy and mauled him, zoo officials said.

It was not clear whether the child, who was about 3 years old, died from the fall or the attack, said Barbara Baker, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Zoo officials and police were trying to determine how the child got over the railing, which is about 4-5 feet high, then apparently fell off a mesh barrier and into the exhibit.

When the boy fell, other visitors immediately told staff members, who responded along with Pittsburgh police. Zookeepers called off the dogs, and seven of them immediately went to a back building. Three more eventually were drawn away from the boy, but the last dog wouldn't come into the building, and police had to shoot the animal, Baker said. Officials haven't released the boy's exact age.

"It's clear that the dogs did attack the child, but whether he died of the attack or the fall has yet to be determined," Baker said.

The dogs are about as big as medium-sized domestic dogs, 2 to 2? feet high and 37 to 80 pounds, according to the zoo. African wild dogs are also known as cape hunting dogs, spotted dogs, and painted wolves. They have large, rounded ears and dark brown circles around their eyes and are considered endangered.

Police and the Allegheny County medical examiner's office were investigating. Baker said the zoo, which has never had a visitor death, plans an internal investigation, and no decision has been made yet on the future of the exhibit.

The dogs normally live in a 1.5 acre exhibit called the Painted Dog Bush Camp that's part of a larger open area called the African Savanna, where elephants, lions and other animals can be seen. Visitors walk onto a deck that is glassed on the sides, but open in front where the railing is located. Visitors can look out at the dogs below. The mesh barrier is below the railing.

In May, some of the dogs crawled under a fence and escaped into a part of the exhibit that's usually closed. The zoo was on lockdown for about an hour as a precaution.

Ten African painted dogs were born at the zoo in 2009, and their mother died of a ruptured uterus shortly after delivering the litter. Five of the pups survived. The mortality rate for painted pups is 50 percent, even when born in the wild to a healthy mother.

It was only the second litter to be hand-raised in captivity, along with one in the United Kingdom, zoo officials said at the time.

Seasonal Birds: running, weight-loss and the ... - Fitness Newspaper

Published on November 2, 2012 by FASTERSally ????? No Comments

A few years ago I was out doing a long run? in preparation for the London marathon. It was in the second week of January, a Sunday morning if I remember correctly. All of a sudden I was running alongside a man wearing brand new trainers, track-suit etc.

I started a conversation with the guy and I asked him if he was on a new year?s resolution. He told me that it was not the case. His wife had bought him the gear for Christmas and as soon as the celebration had ended she was on his case. He said the first two times that he had gone out, instead of doing his runs he had pulled over at the pub. His wife was not very pleased when he got home and all the gear was still unused.

To cut a long story short he said to me that he had been fast asleep on this Sunday morning and his wife had woken him shouting ? You lazy bastard, wake up and go for a run? and there he was huffing and puffing.

I never saw him out again.

?

This? man belong to a category of exercises that I like to call ?Seasonal Birds??

They come out in January every year wearing new trainers and gear, such as heart rate monitors, I pods and brand new gloves. You spot them along roads, in parks and in the forest.

A couple of weeks later they disappear to reappear briefly in April, around the time of London Marathon.

They were out again over the summer, inspired by the Olympics, the Paralympics, and the milder weather.

And now that it?s getting colder and darker they are once again disappearing from the streets, leaving the canal paths, tarmac and cycle paths free again.

?

Now, it is a general belief that people have that running is the best way to lose weight. I don?t blame people for believing that ? Just look at the world?s fastest long distance runners. They don?t carry any excess do they?

Unfortunately a lot of it is down to genetics. To get to that level you need to have the right genetic makeup, a body which is lean and which has the right kind of muscle fibre to endure hours and hours of running. Perhaps you need to come from East Africa too.

The average person is not going to get that sort of body if they take up running. What is most likely to happen is that your appetite will increase when you take up running and your body shape will more or less stay the same. Although your body shape will not transform, you will get? fitter?, and your heart and lungs will get stronger. Also, if you do enjoy running by all means, carry on doing it ? it certainly gives you a? buzz!

However, if you?re a after a leaner physique, a better way of transforming your body is most likely to be a healthy combination of improved diet, moderate? cardio and resistance training. This kind of approach is the one most likely to give you the results you?re after and hence is the one you?re most likely to stick with ? unlike the seasonal birds who always disappear (along with their fancy equipment) when their efforts have failed to give them the body of their dreams and the cold nights and dark mornings override any motivation to hit the streets.

Ethical Gifts Toy Giveaway & Product Review? | MUMmedia

fairtrade wooden toys

Just recently I?ve been thinking about Christmas and how every year we seem to accumulate more and more um, stuff.

Every year I feel challenged to do Christmas a little differently ? to buy less and be more thoughtful and considerate about what I do buy. I?ll be honest. I?ve said this before and still found myself in a mad panic on Christmas Eve rushing through K-mart with a trolley full of um, stuff.

So once again?I?m trying to be more organised and thoughtful with Christmas this year.

fairtrade wooden toys

Why fairtrade?

ethical shopping

Buying fairtrade means that the people who made it are looked after and not exploited by the industries that employ them. When we buy fairtade it?s an opportunity to do something good for families living in the developing world.

Wooden toys sold by ethical gifts are made under fairtrade practices in Vietnam by Q toys (An Australian company).

What?s so good about wooden toys?

eco friendly toys

Wooden toys are a great eco-friendly alternative.

Have you ever heard someone say ?They just don?t make ?em like they used to?.? That?s because they don?t. Many popular toy manufacturers make toys that aren?t designed to last so we are forced to keep buying more. It?s called planned obsolescence.

Wooden toys are BRILLIANT quality. They will survive 1,2,3,4 or more children. In fact, they might even stand the test of time so your grandchildren can enjoy playing with them!

Kids these days, including my own, have too many toys.? I would much rather spend more money on good quality ethical, eco-friendly, or hand made items and simply buy less.

eco-friendly wooden toys

My 3 year old (pictured) was pretty darn rough with the balancing game but it didn?t matter as I knew it could take a pounding. He loved it. He counted the rings, he told me the colors and he showed me how he could make it go up and down. My 5 year old explained to him how it was also addition and subtraction. Bless him.

Ethical gifts also stock gifts for the whole family ? not just toys ? they are worth a look!
