Squishy Buns ? My Favorite Writing Tool ? Speaking from the Heart

Question
What do Barnes & Noble, the public library, and coffee shops like Starbuck?s, Caribou, and Conscious Cup all have in common?

Answer
The?Goldilocks Syndrome?Papa Bear?s?hard?wooden chairs!

When writing, I sit for extended periods of time. This can result in painful bunuelos?not the tasty Mexican fritters; we?re talking sore butt cheeks!

I love my?squishy buns. This ergonomically designed chair-topper feels like thick, gel-filled neoprene. The crease where it folds for easy storage in my backpack has a center-relieved groove that eliminates pressure on the tailbone?ahhh?making it comfortable to?sit for hours on end?(pun intended).

When our mind isn?t focused on sore buns, it?s free to court creative thoughts and original ideas and spin them into gold.

What?s your favorite writing tool?

Excel In The Art Of Massage Therapy

There has been an unprecedented rise in medical facilities and rehabilitation centers across regions worldwide that offer massage therapy services. The rising levels of stress and increased consciousness among people about achieving holistic health are the important reasons attributed to this.

Most health care professionals recognize the powerful influence that massage therapy can have on human body. They are recommending this complementary and alternative medicine for treating a vast range of problems/disorders including pain relief, injury rehabilitation, stress reduction, post-operative surgical rehabilitation, immune system boost and more. Clinical studies suggest that expert muscle-stroking can not only help alleviate stress, but can also naturally increase the immune system's cytotoxic capacity and decrease the number of T-cells, which can eventually improve the body's overall immune functioning.

To effectively treat any specific health condition, a massage therapist needs to know and understand the patient?s symptoms, medical history, and the desired results.

He/she should be formally trained to perform an evaluation through touch to locate the painful or tense areas, and then determine how much pressure to apply. Only the right knowledge and experience can help the therapist decide how to press, rub, and manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the patient?s body in order to achieve the desired results.

Paramount College of Natural Medicine is one such acclaimed institute in Perth, WA that offers the certificate course in massage therapy practice. This tactile course equips the massage therapists to perform basic relaxation massage techniques on patients, thus guiding them to a state of optimum health and well-being. The course flows naturally onto the Diploma of Remedial Massage; its components may also be credited towards the institute?s Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy.

Students are required to complete three electives during the course; they can choose from a diverse selection of courses that include Aromatherapy, Kinesiology, Meditation, Reflexology and Yoga. These electives may also lead to additional qualifications like Certificate in Aromatherapy. To satisfy the practical aspects of this course, they are also required to participate in a minimum of 100 log book hours. Most of these hours are accrued within the Student Clinic, where they get the opportunity to apply their skills in a real environment and within the direct supervision of qualified practitioners.

With the highly stressful lifestyles and the various harmful side effects of prescribed medications, massage therapy continues to emerge as one of the most popular forms of disease prevention and rehabilitation. With expert guidance and practical inputs, every aspiring health care professional can become a proficient massage therapist and provide what is desired by one and all ? holistic health!

How to kill time productively on your smartphone

7 hrs.

The smartphone has made killing time when you're standing in line easy, but instead of launching another bird into the sky you can turn those two-minute spurts of non-activity into productive moments. Doing so will help you rid the most annoying and tiny daily tasks in your downtime. Here are a few ideas for doing just that.

You'll find plenty of great productivity apps on smartphones, but actually using them isn't always the easiest option. After all, when you're waiting around for a plane or killing time at the DMV it's a lot easier to just boot up Facebook and screw around for a few minutes. Still, you can get a surprising amount of things done in just a couple minutes, starting with your email.

Process your inbox: Answer everything you can respond to in two minutes or less
Chances are you have a few emails you haven't responded to because they're just simple questions. It's those emails you avoid because they're just so easy, but they end up piling up as the day goes along. You can find these emails quicker by getting everything organized. The trusted trio is a great way to start, but if you want another option you can keep it even simpler by setting up specific labels in Gmail called Kill Time (and if you need help with labels we've got you covered). Throughout the day just throw in those easy to reply emails you leave sitting around and then bang them out when you're waiting around later.

However you choose to do it the purpose is the same: filter off a few emails a day into a folder where you can quickly pull them up on your phone and kill some time answering them.

Bake phone?tasks into your to-do's
If your to-do list is anything like mine then it probably has a ton of simple, quick tasks scattered throughout it. These include things like making quick phone calls, sending emails, researching a simple topic or even ordering some new shoes. Instead of keeping these short tasks inline with more complicated to-dos, bake in a special phone list filled with everything you can do from your phone.

If that's not possible, take those couple of minutes to sit down and prune items from your to-do list. Eliminate tasks you can't get to, reorganizing others, or whatever it takes to make your list manageable.

Brainstorm freely with no purpose
This is a little more abstract, but taking advantage of those moments when you're bored is a great way time for creativity (and productivity). We've seen before that being bored is actually good for creativity and it's easy to do on the go.

You can do this anyway you like, with a text editor, drawing app or anything else. Personally, I use the iOS app Mindjet because I love mindmapping. The idea is that you just write down all the ridiculous ideas you have while you're bored with no thought for how bad they are and then return to them later to pick out the good ones.

Give your brain a workout
Another option is stuff a little brain training into those moments. We know brain games don't make you smart, but some games, logic puzzles and other exercises still benefit your brain. Crossword puzzles are thought to combat Alzheimers and they're readily available for nearly every smart phone. If crosswords aren't your thing, nearly every digital device on the planet has Tetris available on it and Tetris is known to expand your brain.

You can also take that time to learn something new. The variety of Wikipedia apps are a great way to kill some time while still learning something. Just fire it up, select a random article and you're on your way to learning something new instead of killing time.

The ideas here are pretty simple. Instead of killing time being bored, turn that time into something productive. Make it easy on yourself by separating all those tasks ahead of time so you can pop in, take care of a few things, and pop right back out. Have your own time killing tips? Share them in the comments.

Comcast's 'Project Dayview' does PDA duty across TV, phone, PC and tablet

Comcast's 'Project Dayview' project does PDA duty across TV, phone, PC and tablet

While we expected to see Comcast roll out its X1 DVR platform today at the Cable Show, more surprising is the new Project Dayview initiative. As seen above, it attempts to provide a single cross-platform home screen that combines info from its services and third party sources to give customers a quick look at what's important to them, on any screen. Potential sources include Comcast services (DVR schedule from your cable box, voicemails from the home phone, email, or home security / automation updates when you're away) as well as third party information like your current calendar software, social media and local news. While ambitious, it does reflect a futuristic ability to bring its users relevant information (based on the time of day, it could pull the traffic report before you leave for work or TV listings in the evening, for example) automatically. How well it all works remains to be seen once this is integrated with the new DVR software and apps later this year, but you can get an idea of what Comcast has up its sleeve for your four screens from the pictures in the gallery below.

Lolo Jones, Olympic Running Star, Worries Virginity is Holding Her Back

She's got looks, class, brains and Olympic-level talent.

Lolo Jones still can't land a steady boyfriend, however.

Jones, whose real first name is Lori, has been looking online, but she admitted on HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel that she hasn't had too much luck.

The biggest detriment, she says? Her virginity.

"It's something, a gift I want to give my husband," the 29-year-old hurdler says. "This journey has been hard. It's the hardest thing I've ever done."

"Harder than training for the Olympics. Harder than studying for college has been staying a virgin before marriage. I've been tempted."

She says she's even considered its impact on her sport: "I've had guys tell me … 'Hey, you know, if you have sex, it'll help you run faster.'"

Lolo Jones didn't buy that suggestions, she says, despite how much she wants that gold medal. She then says, "If you marry me, then yeah."
